"Practice isn't the thing you do when you are good, it's the thing that makes you good" Malcolm Gladwell
Welcome to our Golf Performance Coaching Program, designed for players who want to improve their game quickly and efficiently.
As a golfer, you know practice is crucial to improving your golf game, but not all practice time is created equal. My program is based on the concept of practicing smarter, not harder, to achieve the best results in the least amount of time, and centered around tried, tested, and proven practice games and challenges that I have developed to help you improve your swing, accuracy, distance, and overall golf performance.
These games and challenges are designed to be quick, fun, and effective, allowing you to maximize your practice time and see results faster.
I believe that practice should never be boring or repetitive. Your coaching programme is designed to make your practice sessions fun and exciting, and to offer the right mix of challenges to keep you engaged and motivated. Whether you are a beginner looking to build your foundational skills or an experienced golfer aiming to improve specific areas of your game, we have practice games and challenges that can help you.
This approach to coaching is tailored to your unique needs, ensuring that you receive personalised attention and advice. We'll work together and develop a customised plan that addresses your unique goals and needs, allowing you to make the most of every practice session.
I'm fully committed to helping you improve your golf game swiftly and with minimum time to spend. With these tried, tested, and proven practice games and challenges, I know you'll see significant improvement in your golf performance.
An example of a Driver Practice Game I had published recently:
I n the 2023 Open Championship we admired Brian Harmon’s driving accuracy, and I promised you a great game to practice and test your driving accuracy here at the Wessex Golf Centre Range.
On an 18 hole course you’d be delighted to hit the fairway on the 14 driving holes, the par 4’s and 5’s. The PGA Tour Average is 58% or 8 of 14 fairways hit per round, is that lower than you expected?
A fantastic way to test your driving accuracy is to conduct a 14 drive test once a week on the range.
How to test yourself:
At the range, visualise and set your ideal fairway width, 40 yards is a good start, find two range markers to represent the left and right sides of your test fairway, the Top Tracer practice mode/dispersion can be used too. If you prefer Ol’ Skool , the two white and yellow posts, left and right of the 200 yard board on range are 32 yards apart and the blue post and the tyre to the right (about 150 yards on range) are 46 yards apart.
A target of 8 out of 14 would be a good start, and 10 would be excellent. When you can land your goals number of drives in your target fairway, its time to up the challenge, you could reduce your fairway width by 5 yards, or set a new goal for example 11 of 14 drives into your fairway.

Good luck and let me know how you get on. paul@darcygolf.com
